Who is Bart?

Bart lives in the lively seaside district of Scheveningen, just a stone’s throw from the beach, together with his wife and two daughters. He loves swimming in the sea, playing tennis and attending dance events. His passion for music eventually led him to his current role as Sales Manager for corporate events at Madurodam.

In his role, Bart is responsible for acquiring new business and continuously improving both existing and new event concepts. His strength lies in creative, out-of-the-box thinking and creating that special “wow” factor for every event. Bart uses the Event Canvas methodology to develop and shape large-scale events and works closely with the team to turn every event into a success.

What does the WOW factor mean to you?

For Bart, the WOW factor is all about completely taking care of clients and guests while surprising them with memorable experiences. His goal is that everyone leaves Madurodam feeling they have attended one of the best events they have ever experienced. He gets the most satisfaction from hearing positive feedback and seeing happy, satisfied faces at the end of an event. Bart recommends Madurodam because of its unique location, the creativity and dedication of the in-house teams, and the organisation’s social impact through projects that support children.

If you were an M&M, which one would you be?

Bart would be an orange M&M, a colour that reflects his cheerful personality, optimism and energy.

Who is Demi?

Since the end of 2022, Demi has been part of the Madurodam team. In her spare time, she enjoys attending events, especially those featuring Dutch music, or relaxing at home with a good series or enjoying a drink on a terrace. At Madurodam, Demi works as an Event Manager, acting as the connecting link between different departments and suppliers. Her goal is to translate the client’s wishes into an unforgettable event experience.

Demi’s fresh perspective and enthusiasm make her excellent at organising and coordinating the many different elements that come together during an event. Her strength lies in creating structure from creative chaos, resulting in a clear and well-organised event plan for her colleagues.

What does the WOW factor mean to you?

For Demi, the WOW factor is about going that extra mile to surprise every guest at an event. An event is truly successful when both the guests and the client leave with a great feeling. Madurodam offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere combined with a personal approach, allowing organisers to fully relax and enjoy the experience while we take care of every detail.

If you were an M&M, which one would you be?

Demi would be a blue M&M, a colour that represents calm, trust and stability.

Who is Laura?

Laura has been part of the Madurodam Events team since October 2024. She lives in the heart of Rotterdam and, although she wasn’t born there, she considers herself a true Rotterdammer. After completing her degree in Leisure & Event Management, she made the move to the beautiful city of The Hague. At Madurodam, Laura happily takes on the role of Event Manager. Her passion lies in creating events down to the smallest detail, from the first rough idea to the final finishing touches. For Laura, an event is truly successful when she sees both the client and guests leave with a smile. That is when she knows her mission has been accomplished.

What does the WOW factor mean to you?

For Laura, the WOW factor is about creating a complete experience for every guest. It means creating a feeling of ease and enjoyment, where every element of the event flows seamlessly together and guests are truly taken on a journey. Madurodam has the ability to create that WOW experience. The combination of professional event spaces and the playful character of the park makes this location truly unique compared to other event venues.

If you were an M&M, which one would you be?

Laura sees herself as a green M&M. First of all, because green is the shared colour of both Rotterdam and The Hague, the two cities that are an important part of her story. Green also represents involvement and collaboration, because organising an event is never something you do alone!

Who is Marianne?

My name is Marianne and I live in Voorburg, where I share a lively household with my husband, two daughters, a dog, two cats and two parakeets. Sport is my way to recharge. At least three times a week, you can find me at the gym for kickboxing, boxing, XCORE and strength training. After a busy week, I enjoy a good glass of white wine and discovering new culinary experiences. Gaming is my guilty pleasure, and my birthday celebrations always have an 80s theme. My personality? Enthusiastic, open, direct and always ready for a new adventure.

I have been part of the Madurodam family since May 2006 and have worked as an Event Manager since February 2007. I create memorable events for both corporate and private clients, ensuring every detail is perfectly arranged, from the first quotation to the final evaluation. My creativity and eye for detail help make every event unique. My expertise lies in planning and executing events while truly understanding the needs of each client. I love thinking along about the programme and adding value through creative ideas and personal touches.

What does the WOW factor mean to you?

My mission is to create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. For me, the WOW factor is the perfect combination of a happy client, enthusiastic guests and a flawless execution. A successful event is one that stays with people long after they leave.
