Tulpenborrel (networking event) 2026
On Monday, April 13, 2026, Madurodam opened its doors for this special event. This year’s edition revolved entirely around one theme: More than Miniatures.
Experience at the heart of the event
What happens when you don’t simply organise an event, but truly design it together? The Tulip Networking Event 2026 started with exactly that question.
Instead of beginning with the programme itself, our team started at the core: who are we creating this event for, and what impact do we want to make? With those questions as a foundation, the Event Design Canvas became the starting point for the entire event, developed in close collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation.
The result was an edition centred around collaboration, experience and genuine connection.
Guests didn’t simply attend for drinks; they became part of the story. Rather than following a fixed programme, they were invited to explore the park in their own way. Some spontaneously joined a masterclass, while others suddenly found themselves face to face with the craftsmanship behind our miniatures. No fixed route, but an experience to discover for yourself. And it worked.
"I didn’t really know what to expect, but certainly not something this extensive and thoughtfully designed. Everything was perfectly arranged, from the welcome to the content."
That sense of surprise is exactly what matters most to us: guests leaving with a different feeling than the one they arrived with.
An event created by all Madurodammers
An important part of the Tulpenborrel is the involvement of the entire organisation. Colleagues from different departments actively contributed to both the content and execution of the event this year — from our miniature workshop to hospitality, and from technical teams to management.
They shared their craftsmanship, stories and passion with our guests. That made the Tulip Networking Event more than just an event at a venue: it became a shared production in which the whole organisation came to life.
Surprise and genuine connection
During the event, we noticed something special happening: guests stayed longer, conversations started naturally and people easily connected with one another. The open set-up of the programme created space for real interaction.
